The Nuts & Bolts of Selling a Book Understanding the basics of book publishing Developing a top-notch book proposal Finding an agent and publisher Handling rejection Selling the book (choosing the right editor/publisher ) Making the deal – advances, rights, deadlines, etc. 3. Bringing Your Book to the World Understanding the publishing process/cycle Developing a platform and effective marketing plan Who sells the book? Understanding the role of author and publisher Generating publicity and media interest Learning the truth about bestsellers Valuable resources every writer needs to know On the last day of the event, we’ll be joined by a special guest – Reid Tracy, President of Hay House Publishing. During this interactive part of the program, you’ll have a chance to hear the truth directly from a deal maker as you enjoy an in-depth dialogue about what publishers look for in a book, in an author, and when making a successful book deal. This session offers plenty of time for questions and answers.
