I am wondering why no one has posted anything here in 30 days. This would be a great place for like minded people who are coaches to meet. Or people who are needing coaches to come visit and find out more about coaching?
Who is up for it!?

Sounds interesting,,, I need to focus on starting my coaching business, and could use the support from a group such as this one. We could help each other out, coach each other. What do you think?

I would love to see a group of people meeting here and learning from each other. I have found when you get 3 or more people together, extraordinary things happen. Hopefully we will attract more coaches to this group!

I am in Richardson Texas North of Dallas.
I started my coaching by getting material from Coach Training Accelerator. I really liked their material but felt I needed more. So I went to Coaching Institute with Terri Levine and Sharon Wilson. I am just about finished with their program and then will get my certification.
I have done Teleclasses, Group Training, Speaking and Writing Articles. (I have found the last two most successful. My clients have come from my speaking engagements but my prospects have come from my articles).
I recently was published in Certmag.com and they have since asked me join as a monthly contributor to their magazine.
I think Coaching is the most awesome thing and I love interacting and helping people.
Your turn! :)

Hi,
Laura, sounds like you've got a great coaching career going and that you're enjoying it. I'm from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. I took my initial coaching course in 2004 through Institute for Life Coach Training, Pat Williams being the president. I enjoyed it for months afterwards, then I slowly dropped out of it.. and did other things. In the last few months, I've been thinking about it again, and have recently registered for a Relationship Coaching Home Study Program and I'm looking forward to starting. I do want to coach women and I'd like to have my business going my October. That's when my employment benefits run out. I also hope to find a part-time job.

Hi!
I'm located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin... however soon relocating to Chicago....
I received my Master Practitioner cert. in NLP last year along with Hypnotherapy, and Time Line Therapy.
I have been working on and off with clients.... mostly around letting old negative emotions go....
This past year, I have come to realize that I wanted more education in actual coaching skills, so started with the core curriculum through Coaches Training Institute. I will be completing the program this April. It is experiential learning.... very intensive weekends!
I have begun my journey on certification through the International Coaches Federation, and have found them to be a great resource.
Currently, I am "hanging out" with a GREAT group of coaches in Chicago, the Chicago Coaches, through ICF. Every meeting (monthly) I learn a wealth of info and gain so many wonderful contacts.... and friends. They have all been so helpful.
Now that our intros are accomplished.... What are you both thinking about?
Is this thread going to be for coaches.... resources, coaches coaching coaches.... ??? What do ya think??

We could post thoughts, ideas, how to, what works, questions. We could coach each other. I don't think you can every have enough practice. If we did the coaching, would we do it as a triad where the three of us meet on the phone and one coaches, one is coached and the other one listens and gives feedback? Or would we just coach here. Someone put a coaching need and the other to coach towards it? Let me know what you guys are thinking and wanting.

Sounds like we have something great going on here. We're motivated to move forward. I'm in favor of coaching over the net for now. We can use this forum to write down our goals for the week and report in on a minimum weekly basis. (We must all have a coaching call prep. form, of some sorts to use, if not , I could provide a sample. We could either e-mail it to one another, on a set day, or just write things down on this forum. So, first it would help to find out from you what you're hoping to get from this forum. What's one thing you want to gain from this forum.
Just to add more to my background. I've got a BA in Psy. and Sociology, a MA in Human Development, and a M.Ed. I've got a few courses in teachers of adult certificate program and part one of Life skills. I've offered seminars in stress management and wellness in the past and had a singles group going a few years ago. My life has changed in the last few years, quit a full-time job, sold my house, kids moved out,,, so there's been a lot of adjustments. Needless to say, I've gained a lot of experience and have learned a lot while going through these transitions. Now, I'm sort of 'starting over' and am determined to get my coaching practice going..

Hi Everyone,
I just listened to Cheryl's (practice building telegathering with coaches) and she suggested that we post here, to connect with other coaches.
I am currently a coach in training. I am studying at Coach U and I don't need to tell any of you how great the experience is. My mentor coach was actually trained with Cheryl. And this month I have started my personal foundation work. Each day, I learn new things about myself.
I would love to hear from other coaches!!!

My name is Judy, and I was on Cheryl's practice building call as well. I'm starting my coaching practice and would like to join Jen, and the rest of you. I'm a lifestyle coach, and have been coaching as a contractor, however now is the time to start my own practice. I would like to join a network of other coaches like yourselves to support and be supported. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello everybody - I just did what I had thought about for about 3 years: I have rented space and paid for a full year for a monthly gathering - Cheryl's style here in my hometown, Ottawa, Canada and I am very excited about it. Up to now my business has come to be just through my website - I have avoided doing the the big M - marketing. Do any of you do it - the monthly gathering - coaching like Cheryl did when she first started? Listening to the building your coaching practice call with Cheryl last week was the little push I needed to finally take action on this one.
I look forward to hear from the others on the forum

Hi from Canada
I offered the Life Makeover from my home a few years ago,and got a poor response.. (I didn't charge anything for this) Perhaps booking a space at the local library might be a good idea. Are you asking any fee for service or is this a marketing strategy.

I had posted on cheryl to start a group and a few people answered - but I want to make it bigger - I don't charge anything - the space costs me very little because I make it a community service with only a short "if anyone is interested in coaching, please talk to me after the presentation"
I will send posters to my network and other places that serve women (hair salon - spas - women's gyms

I was just checking out the forum to see if anything had been happening, and it doesn't appear to .. What's been happening in your lives coaches? I've printed up some business cards, and handed some out, (I figure I can connect with only one person at a time), and joined the chamber of commerce.
What are you up to and are you still interested in working together.

Hi Linda,
I would like to get together with other coaches if a time could be worked out. There are many free bridge lines. As far as what I have been doing: I'm currently setting up my web site. I would love to hear from others who already have theirs. I think a coaching support group would be great.

Hello Everyone,
Yes, I would love a coaches support group. I am new to this and would love to have a forum that would check in weekly to have a sounding board. I am not sure how to facilitate this, but we surely should try to join together. Is there anyone in the New York area that would like to set up a bridge to discover how we can support ourselves as we build our practice?
Please e-mail me at marycatherineg@gmail.com
Thanks,

Hi Mary Catherine,
I live in NY and I've been coaching for almost ten years so I know what the early stages are like. :-)
Just wondering - Are you looking for a mentor group for coaching practice and a place to ask questions? a mentor coach? a group of other coaches who are just starting out and you can share your challenges? Do you have any coach training?
Once I know exactly what you are looking for, I may be better able to help you.
Best regards,
Marion

Hi Everyone,
I am not sure if anything came of this. I had started it out and then it looked like everyone was headed to something Jen was doing. So I don't know if everyone is over there now or we want to get this started here.
We need to take action! So I am going to suggest two times. Let me know if you are interested and want to start the Mastermind group. Pick one and email me at laura@successcreation4u.com and we will go with the most popular choice. (I know if you give too many options it just becomes confusing)
Tuesday at 8pm CST
Thursday at 8pm CST
I am guessing that most of us since we are still somewhat new have not quit our J.O.B.
So let me know by emailing me directly if this works for you and we will start a group starting next week that works best for the majority.

I wouldn't mind doing it an hour earlier but I travel in different time zones and if I do it an hour earlier and I am on the West Coast I won't be out of my regular j.o.b. in time to participate. If everyone else wants this time then I will just participate when I can. Let's see how things go.
This is often where the challenge comes in is trying to find a time that works for everyone.

I was just on Cheryl's coach call last night and she suggested checking this out. It is great how you ladies are forming a group to support one another. I am curious if there is room for one more and if there is what the details of things are. I am a new coach, completeing my certification with Coach Training Alliance in December. Would love to connect with others. Tomorrow night won't work for me, prior obligation. But it may be cancelled as well.

I agree Judy the more the merrier. I know that was THE biggest step I took is when I joined my 1st Mastermind group. (we still meet after almost a year). I grew quicker as a coach, I got great ideas from them. I was able to practice coaching. We could share thoughts. It has been fantastic. So I hope to hear from more of you so you can be part of this fantastic group we are starting.

Hi Everyone,
I hope it is not too late to join this group! I am so sorry I missed your first call. I have been looking for a group for coaches on the bulletin boards, but I didn't see this thread until today.
I am a coach trained though Coaches Training Institute working with clients with AD/HD and other organizational challenges. I have been coaching for about 2 1/2 years, but have been working with only 3-4 clients at a time because I knew I needed a great deal of self-development before I could handle anything more than that. I feel I am now ready to focus on growing my practice. Listening to Cheryl's Practice Building CD program and the two phone classes has been extremely helpful. Now I really want the sharing, caring, support and exchange of ideas of a coaching mastermind group to move into action and to help others do the same.
If you have room for one more, please send me information for the next call at coachri@cox.net.
Thank you,
Louanne

Hi everyone,
First, thank you, Laura, for your e-mail with the information for the calls.
I see that the group has decided to meet twice a month rather than every week. I am wondering whether the second and fourth Thursdays would work as well for everyone as the first and third. I would really love to be part of this group, but I have a commitment on the third Thursday of each month (a support group that is my main marketing source), and sometimes I have a teleclass on the first Thursday. I'm sorry I missed the first call; this may have already been discussed. Please let me know whether anyone has conflicts on the second and fourth Thursdays or whether changing the weeks for our calls might be possible.

Louann,
We did talk about it during our meeting and found that this is the time that works best for everyone. When you get a group this large you can't always find a perfect time for everyone. So we did the best we could. Please join us on the 1st Thursday as there is still so much to learn.
