Hello Caroline!
I'm a long-time fan of Cheryl's, but a new user of this Community Board. As a Success Coach and Joyologist, I figured it would be fun to meet a like-minded group, so here I am! I was just browsing around at the interesting messages from so many wonderful folk and came upon yours.
Congrats on your book project! YAY FOR YOU! How far along are you on it? Are you going to self-publish it or? I have years of experience in writing, editing, PR, marketing and promoting with pizzaz, so lemme know what you need. I can provide you with some helpful resources as well.
As for coach training, I researched everywhere as well. Like Cheryl, I graduated from Coach U and I loved it and learned alot! (Coach U was started by the brilliant founder of coaching, Thomas Leonard). I credit their great info and expert instructors with guiding me in the right direction when I started my own practice.
I have also heard good things about CTI from other coaches as well, but can't speak to the education/training. As for Coachville, you can become a member for free and pick up helpful info...and the Coachville schools were also started by Thomas Leonard after he left Coach U...I'm not sure what the difference is.
Bottom line though....what you do with all the info you learn is what counts. Care...and Coach from a place of truth...and from your heart....know one can teach ya that!
Warmly, KC :)

Hey ya Carol:
I say go for #'s, 1, 3 and 4!
If it means something to you and you have the idea in your head all the time and it's building into a "passion" or "fire-in-the-belly" feeling, I say GO FOR IT!
There is so much to learn about writing and publishing a book. You can get alot of info online, and at the book stores in the writer/book publishing sections. There's also good info in writers magazines like Writer's Digest, The Writer, etc that will help you as you move forward. Also self-publishing guru Dan Poynter has tons of info on his site about self-publishing and promoting books.
If this will assist you, feel free to contact me directly if you'd like a one hour FREE Coaching phone session. We can focus just on helping you get unstuck and taking action on this book project. Lemme know...
As for Coach U, I selected the classes that worked with my busy schedule and family (you can take 1-4 classes a month), and at my own pace. All the classes were done on the phone with coaches and teachers from around the world...very cool. They sent me a big manual full of great info for the classes when I started and then the rest of the material could be found online at their student center. They did give homework...reading assignments and hands-on fieldwork, but it was all do-able. Hope this helps!
Warmly, KC :)
