This is something I wrote in my online journal that I felt like sharing here.
~Being Sensitive...has many disadvantages. I am sensitive to light and sounds, I cry when I watch the news and I take things personally, because I am a person. I bruise easily, but I have never been broken!
I've made apologies for my sensitivity for years, mistaking it for weakness rather than strength. But Cheryl told me "your sensitivity is your greatest gift" at a lecture here in Denver. My sensitivity is an awareness that guides me through the dark. It's what warns me when something is wrong and it's what wakes me when things are good. If it weren't for my sensitivity I would not be a student, a volunteer, a loving wife and mom or a good friend. I am all those things because of where I wear my heart. ~
Thanks for allowing me to share this with you.
