Hello:
I'm new to the group, but from what I have seen you all seem very supportive.
I'm 33 and I found myself spending this weekend wondering why I can never follow through on my goals. I tend to come up with excellent, well thought-out plans, but just when things seem to start going my way I do something to sabotage it. I decided that I hated my career, so I got the courage to apply to grad school. Now I have completed my first year of coursework, but I am on academic probation. Just when I seem to have my finances in order, I usually go to the mall to "reward" myself.
I think that I am afraid of succeeding, so I put up these roadblocks. Does that make sense?
Can anyone offer me any suggestions on how to actually follow through on things? I'm really ready to change my life, but I'm scared that I don't know how.
