Hello - I started a makeover group about 5 weeks ago. We have (had) 5 women, 3 of whom where prior friends before the group. Well the ones who are friends are having problems within their friendship that are affecting the group. Because they are "fighting" its been hard to maintain the groups momentum and the fighting friends don't want to be in group together! Yes these are women in the 40's!

What should I do? We have only 2 women left who are really committed to the group?

I do not want the group to dissolve, so I have suggested that we get new women in the group who are not all friends.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jill in Colorado

Jill,

You can get and give support with 3 members- Stick with it!

The group I'm in started with 3 members and stayed that way for a year until some others joined us and now we're 6 strong and have been a group for three and a half years.

We have had women come and go...it's all good....and I continue to get inquiries about once every couple of months. Sometimes our groups schedule and format fits the needs of the inquiry, sometimes it doesn't.

It seems to me that you can keep one of the 3 - any more than that, and the fighting will continue. You could either (with the one other who is not part of the 3) choose who is the best fit, or you could ask them to choose one of them to continue.

Sending you lots of positive energy - you will make it through.

Take care,

KC
