Cheryl's book has helped me to see who I genuinely am, and almost nothing in my life reflects this. I 've stayed in an abusive, loveless marriage because 'good' girls never leave their husbands and get divorced. I've cut off all connection with a beautiful man who loves me for me because 'good' girls never leave their husbands, divorce, and explore possibilities with another man. I think my family will hate me and my friends will gossip about me, but never knowing the outcome was killing me. I'll be so happy not to have to let someone I loath touch me any longer. I realize this other man may simply represent escape, and he may no longer have any interest since I cut him from my life nearly a year ago, but even if that is true, being myself is worth the risk, or at least I must believe that.
