Hello all,
I just wanted to congratulate all of you on your personal journeys. After reading the threads about friends and the Law of Attraction, I wanted to share my thoughts with all of you. It is inevitable that as we grow as people our relationships change, some grow stronger and others weaker.
After I had my son(who is now 12), it seems like many of my friends just disappeared. I was hurt by this, but I also knew that I was starting a new phase in my life and some of my friends just didn't relate. None of my friends had children, their priorities were different. Even to the day, I do not have many friends with children. I also have three sisters and a brother and guess what!?-they don't have children either. I find that I turn to my mother when I need to talk about my son. It can be challenging as we get older to create fulfilling friendships because our responsibilities become priority. I believe it is so important to surround yourself with positive people who are going to contribute to you becoming the best you can be. Our relationships with others is what gets us through the tough times in life.
My life coach training has been the best time of my life(Besides having my son who is my little angel!), but with that being said, it has also opened my eyes to the fact that I am in a very different place than many people that I know. For the first time in a long time, I found a group of people that I could "really" relate to. I
couldn't believe how close I felt to people that I barely knew. Although we were
all unique we all shared the same passion to want to help others improve their lives. There was so much love and empowerment around us. The training consisted of three-full day weekends(along with teleclasses, reading,etc.......)multiple times throughout the year. Each time I had to leave my "coach" friends
I was filled with sadness. Most people around me are very negative, including family members and co-workers. I wanted to tell everyone I knew how wonderful
life can be if you just look within yourself, but I knew that outside of my "coach"
colleagues, many people I knew were not going to be receptive to it. They just
weren't ready. I knew the best thing I could do is share what I have learned with
those who are open to it.
One Monday, after a coaching weekend, I decided to go to the diner during my
lunch break. I was sad that day, knowing it would be a while before I would see
my colleagues again(They became and still are today, my family). A man walked in who I couldn't help but notice. He stood out of the crowd. He was extremely well-dressed, hat and all. He sat down next to me. We didn't speak but I noticed how he kept smiling at me. He had a warmth about him, very welcoming and comforting. I smiled back, finished my coffee, and went over to the register to
pay. The manager approached me and said, "The gentlman over there would like to pay for your lunch". I looked at him and said, "Thank you, but it is not necessary". He looked at me and said, "Stay who you are". I got chills throughout my entire body. I knew in that moment that I received a message from God. I smiled at the man and left; I think I was in shock. When I went home that day, I arrived at my front door to go inside and a swarm of birds surrounded
me. After that day, the sadness and uncertainty that I felt disappeared. I know that I am exactly where I need to be. My story in an example of the Touches of Grace that we receive. Keep your eyes open with love.
Now I realize it is not important the amount of friends that we have but the quality of those friendships and the lives we touch along the way. We can learn so much from one another. It is truly a gift to be able to embrace who you are
and share that gift with people around you.
I am so happy to be a part of this Community that is so supportive and loving to one another. Thank you for being here to share my thoughts.
With love,
Penny
