Hi Everyone! I'm kind of new here, but I've been a fan of Cheryl's since I first saw her on Oprah some time ago.

I was just going through some old goal-setting paperwork, I ran across something I had written after I did the Take Action Challenge in Life Makeovers for Week Five (The Gift of Time), p. 29. Especially helpful were the questions Cheryl provided on page 30:

What needs my attention at this time in my life?
What do I need to let go of?

In answering those questions and creating an Absolute Yes List, I realized that I always felt so busy because there was so much I needed to let go of. Now I'm looking back on the list and the notes from that time, and I see how much progress I've made, and as a result, how much time I've made for Me. Reviewing it all, I think I gained further insight into how wise that exercise is. I thank Cheryl (!) and I thank God for working in her and through her.

So, I think I've made a lot of progress, and I'm grateful for that.
I'm still have work to do though in getting my long-term goals in order, and setting new goals too. I'm trying to take baby steps each day toward accomplishing some of the daily ones I know for sure. Just wanted to share this in case anyone might find a review of that chapter especially helpful as I did.

Did anyone else do the chapter on "The Gift of Time" in Lifemakeovers and find it especially helpful as I did? If so, what specific things helped you to make positive changes that contributed to eliminating time-sinkers and your having more time for truly important things? What meaningful things did you discover you had more time for? Thanks. Rio

Dear Rioko,
I am looking for as much support as I can get at the moment because I took Cheryl up on her take a risk challange. In answer to both of the quesions you mentioned, I realized that I had to tell my life partner of 10 years that he had to move in to a place of his own. I did this on Monday and on Tuesday I was to give my first online/telephone program that I am developing for midlife women - I am a coach as well. The feedback was wonderful!!! I did it even though I was full of every kind of emotion.

I centered and focused on them, not on myslef as I have been taught. I was fully present and in the moment...totally avaliable for them.
I have a deadline for my life partner to move out. He needs to find a job etc. I will follow through in whatever way I need to.

This is my first posting on this board. I am so grateful for loving communities!
Warmly,

Rioko

Hi Rioko,
Yes indeed I am!!!!! The last time I went through such a courageous act was when I divorced the children of my daughters who were under two at the time. I was pennyless and homeless. I drew on my willpower at the time and created amazing things. It also gave me server burnout and an auto-immune disease.
Now, I am taking the action steps to move forward "gently" and lovingly with myself. Not forcing and pushing. I have never experienced both energies of strength and sweetness at the same time!! Truley empowering. I guess if this is what I want to teach others I have had to learn it from the inside out, starting with myself. We never know how our teaching will come from the Universe.
Much thanks for your support. Reaching out for support is new for me also. I am extemely independant. The times they are a changin!!
Thanks again,

Rioko

RE: "I have had to learn it from the inside out, starting with myself. "

Yes, there does seem to be that kind of grace in our struggles.
May you continue to find joy, strength and peace in the midst of it all...Take care.
