I've been yo-yo dieting and exercising for years and always wondered why I never had enough "will power" to maintain my program. Not only did the Mind-Body Makeover Project help me with that, it gave me the strength and courage to do so much more to improve my life.

Discovering my UFO's was quite a wake-up call. I was not familiar with half of them. (Candida, leaky gut syndrome and body dysmorphic disorder, to name a few.) Uncovering these obstacles has taught me a lot about my body.

I've learned to take baby steps, go easy on myself, and acknowledge the positive gains I've accomplished rather than give power to the "less than" and "I screwed up again" thoughts.

I've learned to make healthier food choices, enjoy exercise, and I've treated about 75% of my top 10 UFO's. I'm so excited about how I feel, how I look, and how much peace and joy I experience in my life. I've lost 18lbs., 12 inches, and dropped 3 dress sizes. My memory is sharper, I sleep better, my concentration has improved and I no longer have stomach discomfort. I have more energy than ever before and my heart is full. For the first time in my life I have a newfound love and respect for myself.

I discovered this project one very bad day in January, after pushing my family out the door in tears. Totally exhausted from raising two sons (13 and 7) and renovating our home, I was stuck in a rut. My weight would not budge, my face had developed a rash, my patience was non-existent, and my energy level was about a three on a scale from one to ten.

My intentions for participating in the Mind-Body Makeover Project were to learn to be selfish without guilt or excuses, take time for my life, join a gym and enjoy exercise again. Using my “fitness bible”, The Mind Body Makeover Project, and having support from the Life Makeover community literally moved me to tears. Knowing I was not alone was the most helpful part of the project. The community boards have allowed me to keep in touch with others for mutual support. And, getting feedback from Michael was magical!

At the end of the twelve weeks I've lost 16 pounds, my tight pants are baggy, and I like going to the gym. I feel so much better about myself (I even bought a new bathing suit last week!). I'm able to enjoy my children more because I like myself again and I'm better able to say “no” to the people who were draining my energy. I'm aware of physical issues that were blocking me from losing weight, and am in the process of treating them. I know in my heart this transformation is real and it's just the beginning.
